Shang Tou: blessings while combing the hair
Shang Tou is a pre-wedding hair-combing ceremony accompanied by blessings for a new stage of life. Its setting can feel more intimate than the banquet. Who performs it and which words are spoken may differ between families. A comb or familiar phrase can also bring back an elder's memories of their own wedding.
