Chinese wedding traditions in Singapore include different dialect-group and family practices. This is a short introduction to five traditions, with examples from local cultural sources. It is not a ceremony checklist.
Hokkien · 福建
A pair of gold bangles is one example recorded in Hokkien betrothal traditions.
Source: Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations: Rituals.
Teochew · 潮州
Si Dian Jin is a traditional jewellery gift comprising a necklace, a bangle, earrings and a ring. It is separate from the four pieces in a bedding set.

Cantonese · 广东
The National Heritage Board records the bride wearing a qun kua when the groom comes to fetch her. This is an example of wedding attire, not a requirement for matching bedding.
Hakka · 客家
Dragon-and-phoenix bangles appear in the clan federation’s account of Hakka wedding gifts. Families can decide which gifts and rituals they wish to retain.
Source: Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations: Rituals.
Hainanese · 海南
The clan federation describes an exchange of dragon-and-phoenix candles, with each family keeping a set. This account does not establish a separate bedding colour or piece-count rule.

Where wedding bedding fits in
An Chuang involves preparing the wedding bed with new bed linen in the National Heritage Board’s account. Dates and arrangements can differ. If your family plans a ceremony, you may wish to discuss its timing and the bedding arrangement together.
Choose your bedding using the actual dimensions and the design you enjoy. These cultural examples do not prescribe a QiCai Home design, colour or number of pieces.
A starting point, not a rulebook
Families may combine traditions, simplify them or celebrate differently. The sources describe customs; they do not establish how widely every practice is followed today.
